Ok heres the reality
I’m a shitty blogger. I’m a shitty ‘regular’ blogger so I’m not sure how I thought I would be able to maintain two blogs.
I was worried about my main blog becoming too baby focused but really, that’s my life. I am carrying a genius fetus, I am worried about the gigantic size of my boobs and I am still swearing like a sailor. Why separate the two!?
if you want...
howshedoesit asked: Madeline was my great aunt’s name and she was a HUGE part of my life. I wanted to honor her. It meets most of your criteria EXCEPT it is a top 100 name, and worse Maddie is hugely popular because of all the little Madisons running around. She may hate me later. Samuel was Preston’s grandfather’s name. It is also a pretty popular name, but there is way less diversity in...

Learning new things* daily
* I was going to type shit instead of things but I am trying to watch my language. That is what we call growth folks!
So today I learned the difference between a doula and a midwife via twitter (@thealishanshow) and yeah, I had no idea there was a difference! Good to know.
But now, whats the difference between a doctor and a midwife? What are the benefits/drawbacks to each? I have no birth plan...
mar-see-ah asked: You tiny wonderful chic future mother, are you going to take advantage of the cheap maternity clothes that F21 is supposedly pumping out?
Everything is to protect you. I exist in case you need to be protected.

judiism asked: we started our name search with the letter H because we knew we wanted to honor greg's deceased grandfather. there weren't a ton of H names that came even close to being contenders... but we did end up with a short list we liked. greg really liked the name haley, and i loved (love loved) the name harper. so we just kept bouncing back between those two and eventually thought of harley,...
dailykayla asked: My mother got my name from a soap opera. In fact, every Kayla I know born in the 80's says her mother also got her name from...Days Of Our Lives.
I agree a name needs to sound good on a child and adult. I feel sorry for my sister, Katelynn, when she's 30's and 40's...she is going to sound like a 5-year old. BUT there are so many Katelynn's in her age group, it may...

What's in a name?
Answer: everything.
Mike and I have randomly talked about names for years. One of us would say “hey what about [redacted]?” in passing and unless it was a serious winner it would be forgotten.
Now that we actually get to name another human the pressure is on. A name is so effing important. It needs to be strong. Timeless. Kind. It needs to sound good on a baby as well as an...
ehgoodlooking asked: Don't buy new Citizen maternity jeans! Take your old ones to a tailor (or a site like http://www.belly-jeans.com/ ) and have them snip off the waistband and replace it with a stretchy cotton lycra. I did this on three pairs of jeans at $25 a pop, and L.O.V.E.D every second of it! After, I took them back in and had them switched back (and then... uh... went out and bought a few NEW pairs to...
pleaseexcusethemess asked: rubber band through the button hole and around the button. longer shirt will cover the gap. but i must tell you that once you bite the bullet and purchase a pair of big ol' maternity pants with a big ol' elastic waste band you will never want to go back. its like crack!
Having two blogs is hard work y'all.
Baby cocoon pics on the main blog. :)
here you go!

today will go down in history.
today is a big day.
today is the day my britches no longer fit.
I blew a button. I knew they were a bit snug but I decided if I wore them below the belly we would be all set. Wrong. So, so wrong. My pants busted and I had to wear them unbuttoned for the rest of the day. Comfortable? Yes. Stylish? not so much.
Mike suggested I just start wearing dresses. That...
Hope
I wrote this about a week or two after I found out we were pregnant. It’s random but well…it’s real.
I hope…
you never doubt how much you are loved
you enjoy taking naps in the sun
you have your papas beautiful eyes
you defy gravity
no one ever makes you feel inferior
you love the Cosby Show, reading and puppies
that if you are a girl, you become a phenomenal woman

So. Many. Questions
When does a nursery need to be done by?
Where does one buy baby furniture?
My doctor said I can’t travel after 28 weeks. He’s cray, right?
Is it too early to buy my baby chuck taylors?
When will my boobs stop growing?
Whats a skin care regimine that won’t mutate my baby?
Thoughts on co-sleeping?
How come there are 45645667213 different strollers, car seats (wait you need...

shiningstar asked: I know you're adamant about the 'no ultrasound pictures on the interwebz' thing, so what else is on your 'do not under any circumstances let happen' list for your pregnancy? How do you feel about words like 'preggo,' people touching your belly, unsolicited advice, etc? What previously annoying mom-to-be things have you accidentally succumbed to? What's the...
indiedreams asked: How do you feel about your pregnant body? Do you have any morning sickness (which I never really understood why it's called "morning sickness" because you can get sick any damn time of the day while preggo)? Are you totally going to embrace the big belly and swollen features or will this be a hard transition...real talk.
Worries
Before I was with fetus I used to say (entirely too seriously sometimes) that all I need to do is stay black and die (shuttup. lean on me is a fantastic movie) but now that’s not the case. We are responsible for another person. Their livelihood. Their character. Their heart. Holy Shit.
I used to be a solid sleeper. Now I am up worth anxiety. With worry.
I worry…
that you are growing...
michelleomatic asked: Did you totally know you were knocked up before the test? Was there a moment when the sky parted and the sun shone down and birds sung? Or did you just feel gassy?
valerina asked: Are you excited about getting BIG BOOBS? Fellow small-boobed women such as myself are jealous of the decolletage you will procure in the future.
looktothestars asked: CONGRATULATIONS! SO so so excited for you! When are you due? Have you been trying for awhile, or is this a wonderful surprise? Do either of you have a preference on the gender? Are you sick of these questions yet? Haha- you’ve probably heard them a million times already- but I think its safe to say we’re all dying to know! Again, congrats and best of luck through...
alybooboo asked: Congratulations on the itty one! Any weird cravings so far?
These are questions from my main blog but they’re being answered here.
Thank you!! Weird cravings? Hmmm, not really. I just ate a glazed donut (bad idea) and Mike is making me mac and cheese. I think it’s more of the second I think of something to eat I am 100% focused on that and can’t think of...
