we started our name search with the letter H because we knew we wanted to honor greg’s deceased grandfather. there weren’t a ton of H names that came even close to being contenders… but we did end up with a short list we liked. greg really liked the name haley, and i loved (love loved) the name harper. so we just kept bouncing back between those two and eventually thought of harley, which we realized was kind of a combination of both names we liked - perfect compromise. (so no, she’s not named after the motorcycle.) (and her middle name is after my great-grandmother.)

Ooooh I like Harper a lot and it was in the running for a while but our last name starts with an H and I’m weird about shit like that.
